Tank Driver Eric Coursey Wins First at 2018 Arkansas Trucking Championship

Solar Transport driver Eric Coursey took home first prize in the tank division at the 2018 Arkansas Truck Driving Championship held July 13-14 at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers, Arkansas.

Hosted by the Arkansas Trucking Association (ATA), the tank competition consisted of three categories: pre-trip inspection, written examination and driving skills. Coursey was among 158 drivers to compete in the tank division.

Coursey has driven for Solar Transport for eight years and has 41 years of experience in the trucking industry. He resides in Benton, Arkansas with his wife Teresa and children Mandy and Kent.

Coursey has competed in the statewide championship for the last 10 years, and represented Arkansas and Solar Transport at the national championship in 2016 after taking home first place in the tank division.

This year, Coursey will be one of nine truck drivers representing the state of Arkansas at the National Truck Driving Championships in Columbus, Ohio August 15-18. The event showcases the safest and most professional truck drivers on our nation’s roadways.
